2. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the site and improve your experience:

  • Usage data: Page views, referrer URLs, browser type, device type, approximate geographic location (country/city level), and session duration — collected anonymously via Google Analytics 4 when you consent to analytics cookies.
  • Calculator inputs: Salary figures and tax settings you enter are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit or store them on our servers.
  • Cookie preferences:Your consent choices are stored in your browser's localStorage and in a first-party cookie (etk_consent) for up to one year.
  • Server logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) and CDN may collect standard HTTP access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These are not used for profiling.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Analytics and advertising cookies are only placed after you give active, informed consent via our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the cookie icon in the bottom-right corner.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Strictly necessary cookies (consent preference storage) are set without consent as they are required for the site to function.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Server log retention to meet security and legal requirements of our hosting provider.

6. Data Retention

  • Google Analytics data: 14 months (configured in GA4 settings).
  • Cookie preference stored in your browser: 1 year.
  • Vercel server logs: retained per Vercel's standard retention policy (typically up to 30 days).

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
